Afromedia turns 50

Afromedia Plc, Nigeria’s premier Out-of-Home media organization celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, 2010. In a presentation to the media at a conference on Saturday June 5th2010, the management of the organization unveiled plans for her golden jubilee anniversary campaign themed, ‘Going Green’.

 

The media briefing was also held in commemoration of the
World Environment Day 2010, celebrated around the world as a day to reflect on the need to care for the environment. This year’s theme for the World Environment Day, Many species,One Plane,One Futureprovides an opportunity for Afromedia Plc to contribute to the United Nation’s target of planting 7Billion trees across the world in 2010 only.

 

The cross – section of press men were also informed of Afromedia Plc’s plan to give back to the environment through a series of activities to mark her 50th anniversary campaign between June and September 2010, when the anniversary gala night proper has been scheduled to take place.

 

In line with the company’s commitment of ‘innovatively changing the landscape’, the Group Managing Director, Afromedia Plc, Mr. Akin Ire Olopade emphasized the company’s resolve to invest in the environment through these activities. According to him, “…as our business impacts a great deal on the environment, we realise and deeply understand the urgent need to protect our enviroment and by so doing, protect our future”.
